Portretten en hun achterkant

Vandaag ben ik opnieuw bezig geweest met het schetsen direct in aquarelverf. Portretten dit keer, en op papier dat daar eigenlijk helemaal niet geschikt voor is: veel te dun en te absorberend. De kleur trok er direct doorheen. Maar wat een mooi effect! Met hier en daar een paar lijntjes erbij vond ik de achterkant-portretten eerlijk gezegd mooier dan de voorkanten. Hieronder heb ik ze steeds twee aan twee naast elkaar gezet.

Today I have been working directly in watercolors again. This time, I did some portraits but I used a kind of paper that wasn't exactly suitable for the job: way too thin and too absorbing. The colors just came right through! Actually, this looked kind of pretty... I added some lines where necessary and in the end I thought the backside-portraits came out nicer than the 'right' side ones. Below I placed the fronts and backs in pairs next to each other.
